Great service! Knowledgeable and fair -
Completed full HVAC heat pump installation at residential property. Installed outdoor condenser unit on concrete pad with proper clearances, mounted and wired electrical disconnect box on exterior wall, and ran refrigerant lines and electrical conduit through exterior siding. Interior work included installation and wiring of air handler unit in utility area, connection to existing electrical panel with dedicated circuit labeled for heating system and main floor zone, and integration with home's electrical infrastructure. All electrical connections completed to code specifications, refrigerant lines properly insulated and secured, and system tested for proper operation upon completion.
Responded to no-cool condition on downstairs unit of a two-system residence with 2021 equipment. Upon arrival, confirmed thermostat was set to 71°F but no airflow from registers and outdoor unit not energizing. Inspected air handler and found condensate pump failure causing safety float switch activation, which shut down system operation. Condensate drain pan showed significant sediment buildup and staining indicating prolonged water accumulation. Cleared blockage from condensate drain line, cleaned drain pan, and tested pump operation. Verified proper drainage flow through PVC condensate piping. Cycled system successfully with outdoor unit engaging and airflow restored to all registers. Upstairs unit operating normally with no issues noted.
Responded to service call for main floor AC unit with non-operational blower fan and no cool air delivery. Upon inspection, diagnosed failed blower motor on 6-year-old system. Presented replacement options for the affected unit, documented existing electrical connections and ductwork condition in mechanical space, and provided estimate for complete system replacement due to equipment age and repair costs.
Responded to no cool complaint on upstairs unit struggling to maintain temperature below 78 degrees during hot weather. Performed diagnostic evaluation using digital clamp meter to measure electrical parameters including amperage and voltage readings on system components. Inspected capacitor, control board, and wiring connections for proper operation. Evaluated system performance to determine if unit required refrigerant recharge or had other underlying issues affecting cooling capacity. Verified electrical values were within acceptable ranges and assessed overall system functionality to identify cause of inadequate cooling performance.
Hayes was on time, thorough, and very open to questions. We trust Dawson for all our HVAC and electrical.
Responded to no cooling complaint with indoor temperature at 80°F despite thermostat set to 72°F on a 2024 system. Performed diagnostic testing using digital instrumentation to measure system performance parameters at the air handler and ductwork components. Based on the intermittent cooling issue and difficulty maintaining setpoint during high ambient temperatures, evaluated airflow, refrigerant pressures, and system operation to identify the root cause of inadequate cooling capacity.
Polite and well spoken technician. Honest and hardworking. Because of the experience we also signed up for the biannual inspection.
Responded to no cooling complaint on upstairs system of dual-zone residence with 8-year-old equipment. Upon inspection, found evaporator coil severely frozen with ice buildup, preventing proper airflow and heat exchange. Advised customer to power down system to allow complete thaw of coil and insulation. Observed moisture damage to surrounding insulation and identified potential airflow restriction or refrigerant issue requiring follow-up diagnostic once coil defrosts.
Completed comprehensive heating and air maintenance on two 2020 HVAC systems, performing an 80-point inspection on each unit. Cleaned outdoor condenser coils on both units, performed burner cleaning, adjusted gas pressures to manufacturer specifications, and conducted thorough safety inspections to ensure proper system operation for the heating season.
Completed HVAC system installation with new Honeywell Home digital thermostat programmed and operational in cooling mode. Installed Kidde Carbon Monoxide Alarm as required safety device to meet code compliance. All equipment tested and verified functioning properly with customer walkthrough of thermostat operation and alarm features provided.

Completed comprehensive 32-point annual electrical system evaluation including full electrical panel maintenance with torque verification of all connections and breaker inspection. Performed GFCI and AFCI protection device testing to confirm proper shock and fire protection functionality, conducted smoke and CO detector maintenance with battery replacement and operational testing, replaced customer-supplied light bulbs in fixtures up to 12 feet, and cleaned ceiling fans up to 12 feet. All electrical panels inspected showed proper wiring configuration with main breakers and branch circuits functioning within normal parameters.
Responded to emergency service call for 24-year-old HVAC system with reported fire in electrical components and loss of cooling capacity. Upon arrival, inspected ComfortCoil air handler unit and associated electrical connections, confirming electrical damage that rendered the system unsafe for operation. Documented equipment condition with photographs showing the air handler installation, drainage system, copper refrigerant lines, and compromised electrical wiring with visible damage. Provided customer with comprehensive replacement system quote due to age of equipment and severity of electrical failure, as repair would not be cost-effective or advisable for safety reasons.
