Replaced and upgraded kitchen under cabinet lighting system with new LED fixtures, including installation of additional lighting units for improved coverage. Installed whole home surge protection system with comprehensive warranty coverage. Added LED-compatible dimmer switch to control the new under cabinet lighting, ensuring proper functionality and adjustability. All electrical connections completed to code with warranty protection on parts, labor, and craftsmanship.
Responded to chirping smoke alarm in upstairs hallway. Inspected Kidde combination smoke and carbon monoxide detector mounted on ceiling, confirmed unit operational with green LED indicator illuminated. Determined chirping consistent with possible recall-related issue on this model requiring follow-up verification and potential replacement per manufacturer guidelines.
Completed comprehensive 32-point electrical system evaluation including electrical panel maintenance with proper torquing and connection verification. Performed GFCI outlet testing using calibrated digital testing equipment to confirm proper ground fault protection functionality, with all protected outlets responding correctly to test protocols. Conducted Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter breaker testing to verify fire protection systems operating within specifications. Serviced smoke and carbon monoxide detectors including battery replacement and operational testing to ensure life safety equipment functioning properly. Replaced customer-supplied light bulbs in fixtures up to 12 feet and performed ceiling fan cleaning service up to 12 feet. All electrical safety systems tested and confirmed operational.
Responded to service call for dryer outlet replacement due to arcing and melting at the receptacle. Upon inspection, found damaged dryer plug and receptacle caused by electrical arcing, which had created a burning smell but failed to trip the circuit breaker. Replaced the damaged outlet with new properly rated receptacle, verified all connections were secure, and tested circuit operation to ensure safe functionality. All work completed to code specifications with proper wire terminations and grounding verified.
