Inspected main electrical panel and found no loose connections, damaged breakers, or wiring issues; all circuits properly secured and functioning within normal parameters. Tested smoke detector circuit and determined beeping was due to end-of-life sensors requiring replacement rather than electrical fault; advised homeowner of detector replacement needs and confirmed flickering likely isolated to specific fixture or switch requiring further investigation at light locations.
Curtis was super polite, courteous and professional. He diagnosed my issue fast, gave me options. He wasnt pushy with up-sales and gave me an estimate for future work. Ill definitely be using Dawsons again in the future.

Responded to intermittent power issue affecting first-floor laundry room dryer outlet in 2012 home. Inspected electrical panel and verified breaker operation, finding intermittent connection causing dryer to power on then immediately shut off with no-power error code. Diagnosed and resolved faulty connection at dryer receptacle, restoring consistent power supply to appliance.
Installed four ceiling fans with integrated lighting fixtures in interior rooms with 9-foot ceilings. All fixtures were mounted to standard drywall construction, wired to existing electrical circuits, and tested for proper operation of both fan motor and light components. Installation confirmed operational with all units functioning correctly.

Installed new weatherproof GFCI outlet near deck area with gray conduit run along exterior siding, properly mounted and secured to building exterior. Inspected existing outdoor outlet that was experiencing frequent tripping issues; tested GFCI functionality and determined proper operation. All exterior electrical installations completed per code requirements with appropriate weatherproof enclosures and protection.
Responded to GFCI tripping issue in garage after homeowner installed new deep freezer. Diagnosed circuit overload condition caused by freezer's compressor startup current combined with existing loads on shared GFCI-protected circuit. Explained that the GFCI outlet tripping on opposite side of garage indicated both receptacles were on same circuit, and the combined amperage draw exceeded the GFCI's rating during compressor cycling. Recommended dedicated 20-amp circuit installation for freezer to prevent nuisance tripping and ensure reliable operation of both appliances.
Completed annual 32-point electrical system evaluation on 2001 residential property. Performed electrical panel maintenance including torque verification and connection inspection of all breakers and terminals. Conducted comprehensive testing of GFCI outlets and breakers to verify proper shock protection functionality, and tested all AFCI breakers to ensure fire protection systems were operating within specifications. Cleaned ceiling fan in main living area up to 12 feet, removing dust accumulation from blades and motor housing. Replaced customer-supplied light bulbs in garage and laundry room fixtures. Per homeowner request, smoke detectors were inspected but batteries were not replaced as units are approximately one year old and functioning properly. Verified proper wire gauge, made secure terminations using appropriate torque specifications, and tested the circuit under load to ensure safe operation. Re-energized the circuit and confirmed full functionality with no temperature anomalies detected.
Responded to report of insufficient power to AC disconnect box as identified by HVAC technician. Upon investigation, discovered severely fire-damaged electrical junction box with completely charred wiring and melted insulation indicating previous electrical fire or extreme heat event. Measured voltage at 228V AC using Fluke T5-1000 electrical tester. Junction box mounted to wooden framing showed extensive internal carbonization and heat distortion of metal components, rendering the electrical connection unsafe and non-functional. Documented hazardous condition and recommended immediate replacement of damaged junction box, all affected wiring, and thorough inspection of circuit to ensure safe restoration of proper power supply to AC disconnect.

Bryant was very timely. He was professional, personable, polite and did a great job of explaining everything. He explained the problem and the options for diagnosis and repair. He was fast, efficient, and made sure that he left the area of repair clean and in good order. I will definitely use Bryant and Dawson Electric in the future. Charlie was very nice and professional. He was able to get everything done that I needed (it was a lot) and it took less time than I expected. I’m happy I found Dawson’s and have an electrician I can trust.
We lost power due to lightening strike and they had somebody come out early the next day. Bryant was upfront about everything that needed to be done and what the cost would be. He did a visual check of the house explaining all the things he saw and possible issues that may not be visible. He coordinated with Duke Power, the town inspector, and the HVAC technician and made sure everything went smoothly. With his help everything was back up and running that day!!!

These guys are always fantastic. Fixed my problem, installed a fan - they even took the trash from the fan with them! It’s really the customer service that keeps me coming back though. Everyone I’ve ever dealt with at this company is nice, professional, honest!
Isaac was a very pleasant and easy technician to work with. He was very polite and professional. Isaac went over everything that was going to do before he did during the inspection that Dawson's died and they're service calls. When had them come to gives a quote on removing can lights on our front porch and installing ceiling fans. Isaac went over everything and had him install the fans the same day. I watched him work and enjoyed great conversations with him while he worked. I will be calling Dawson's for future work

Charlie came out to assess my home for surge protection and did an absolutely outstanding job. After a through system evaluation, he installed two layers of defense for my electronics: first a Vortex Series R VR-120 whole home surge protector at the main breaker panel was installed and then a secondary point of use Vortex Series B VB1-60-4XP surge protector on my HVAC equipment. He was professional, highly knowledgeable, and took the time to verify that everything was operating perfectly before he left. It gives me great peace of mind knowing my electrical system and sensitive electronics are fully safeguarded. If you need electrical work done right, ask for Charlie.Highly recommended!
