Customer states unit will not run in heat and only blows cold/cool air. Unit is a 10 year-old heat pump package unit with original ductwork. Found the system on a low pressure lockout. Initial visual inspection found drain line trap below grade with several indications. The unit is not draining properly. 1 to 2 inch waterline inside the unit confirms this. After hooking up gauges,Schrader valve core was leaking and will not seal/close. Recycled power and started unit in heating mode. Heating operations appear correct. Auxiliary heat and primary heating heat pump function all appear to be functional. The system is a 3 ton heat pump with approximately one and a half to 2 tons of ductwork. The return caller attached to this unit is a 14 inch duct and should be at least a 16 inch. It’s possible the system is oversized or the ductwork is considerably undersized. The compressor is drawing excessive amperage on startup. Manufacturers writing is 77 A and the compressor is drawing 95.6 A. Str
